Hilarious Interstellar Sci-Fi Parody

I can almost guarantee you that this will be the funniest thing you will see today. Through a process of manual editing, this parody splices together the water landing of a Falcon 9 booster and a scene from the Warner Brothers film Interstellar starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and a host of others. Elon takes the place of Cooper, the primary starship pilot. This is good stuff!

Star Trek Discovery Spoof with Seth MacFarlane

Are you chomping at the bit waiting for the new “Star Trek Discovery” series scheduled to begin in a few months on CBS? Yes? OK, I have you covered. Kick back and watch this Discovery spoof titled “The Orville Official Trailer.” Fan reaction to this vid is pretty much unanimous that the Orville should be made into an actual film or TV series in the comedic vein of “Galaxy Quest.” Indeed, many commenters on Youtube voiced the opinion that this comedic spoof looks better than the upcoming Discovery series.

Where do you stand? What are your views on Star Trek Discovery? Are you excited? Which ship do you want to voyage to the stars – the USS Discovery or the Orville? Myself, I would watch both as I am a huge fan of “Galaxy Quest” and the Trek franchise in general. Plus, the first look trailer for Discovery looks fantastic.

Funny proof of concept film for a Pixar TV series in development that bills itself as “a satirical animated series about space conquest, the meaning of life and proctology.” Yes, I said proctology, and the film does indeed go there with much hilarity. In the short, an astronaut named Dave and a sentient watermelon take a journey that seems hauntingly familiar. It’s good clean fun for all. City Slickers was a western themed comedy released in 1991 starring Billy Crystal, Bruno Kirby, Daniel Stern, and Jack Palance. In this parody of Westworld, Daniel Stern and Billy Crystal from City Slicker characters revive their roles in this “Funny or Die” exclusive featuring two cowboys that go off their loop and receive some adjustments Westworld-style.

Joy to the World

Happy Holidays from Offworlders Publishing! I want to take this moment to thank you for supporting Offworlders, and I hope you have a day filled with peace and happiness. For Christmas this year I got you a rather cool Star Trek parody from The Carol Burnett show that I find incredibly amusing. Did she nail the Kirk speech mannerism or what?

Patrick Nielsen Hayden’s Reaction to 2015 Hugos

Another shot fired in the war of words surrounding the 2015 Hugo Awards:

This time by Vox Day himself. This Hitler video meme purports to show Tor Books Editor and Manager of Science Fiction Patrick Nielsen Hayden’s reaction to the sweep of the 2015 Hugo Awards by the Sad Puppy slate. I must admit that this video had me in stitches and I am not the only one.

Fantasy writer Mary Robinette Kowal found the video entertaining. She remarked in the video’s comment section:

“This made me laugh, too. It’s probably the best thing he’s ever written. I never thought I’d say this, but you’ve made me laugh at something you intended to be funny. So, thanks for the chuckle. This was hilariously over the top.”
