Rainfall Films Intergalactic Adventure
Metroid fans cast their vote for this movie adaptation of the classic Nintendo game as a part of Rainfall’s “Fantasy Filmmaking” project. The film production crew worked hard to produce the retro look of the eighties sci-fi themed game by employing VHS transfers and 16mm film scans. It takes a minute to adjust to the film’s styling, but when you become accustomed to the look, it’s a visually appealing and fun flick to watch. Jessica Chobot from Nerdist plays the role of Samus.
For Samus purists, the casting Jessica Chobot as Samus was a mistake. The film was well received, with the exception that many fans wished for the selection of a more serious actor for the role of Samus, a character based on never-say-die Ripley from Ridley Scott’s Alien.
Other films produced by Rainfall Films includes Wonder Woman (5 million plus views) and Legend of Zelda (also over 5 million views).
I liked it. What’s your thoughts on the short?
