The narrator identified only as “Time Traveller” later discovers a cannibalistic society called the Morlocks living underground that regularly harvest and eat the peaceful and content Eloi. After escaping the Morlocks and leaving behind the Eloi, the Time Traveller travels about 30 million years into the future to see the last living things perish on the earth.
