Offworlders was honored to pledge in the successful Kickstarter campaign for Project Kosmos, a sci-fi web series that will be produced after generous people around the globe donated some of their hard earned cash to make it happen. The series will revolve around the wife of research scientist Philip Hoyt. Hoyt’s wife is slowly dying and locked in the embrace of a deep coma. Medical staff and close family have given up on the dying woman and everyone except for Philip is ready to throw in the towel. Philip uses newly developed tech to reach into his dying wife’s dreams and memories to probe hidden ‘psi-complexes’ in an attempt explain her mysterious illness and her families hesitation to find a cure.

I first became interested in this project when I ran across a description of the film during an uncontrolled web surfing session where I allowed my frontal lobes to drift with the web’s flotsam and jetsam unabated. It was during this offloading of brain cells that I ran across a description of the Kosmos Project. Plus, as soon as it registered that Virginia Hey from Farscape fame was a cast member, I immediately started looking for the “Somebody take my money” button.

Filming of the series is scheduled to begin in January 2015 with a scheduled completion date of April 2015. Even though the Kickstarter project “Kosmos – Create A Scifi Show” is fully funded, you can still donate to the project if you so desire. Contact Simon Horrocks if you want any further information. Check the official Kosmos website for additional details on the film to include a complete listing of the cast members.
